Our Story
Since opening our doors in June 2013, B. Coleman Aviation has been proud to offer premier aviation services across the Chicagoland region. Our full suite of services includes Fixed Base Operations (FBO), Private Air Charter, Aircraft Management, and expert Maintenance & Repair.
Our name honors the remarkable legacy of Elizabeth “Bessie” Coleman, an aviation trailblazer and a true inspiration. In 1921, Bessie became the first African American woman to earn a pilot’s license. Denied entry to flight schools in the United States due to racial and gender discrimination, she boldly taught herself French, traveled to France, and earned her license from the prestigious Caudron Brothers School of Aviation.
Upon returning to the U.S., Bessie dazzled crowds with her aerial acrobatics, barnstorming across the country and breaking barriers for generations of pilots to come. Like Amelia Earhart, Bessie Coleman’s fearless spirit continues to inspire aviators around the world and it fuels everything we do at B. Coleman Aviation.

Our new modern facility welcomes all passengers and crew with luxurious amenities and a unique ramp-side canopy that protects passengers and aircraft from the elements and is large enough to house a Bombardier Global Express.
Our facility also includes WiFi, a surround sound theater with a 105-inch screen, conference rooms, a cafe with complimentary beverages, a premier pilots lounge, fitness room and shower facilities.
